GvR Eindhoven on Eurosport 2

Tonight at 20.15 CET Eurosport will broadcast an 30 minute program on etnies Goofy versus Regular Eindhoven. The program will feature the skate contest, graffiti contest, etnies shoe swap and has several interviews with riders. Be sure to check it out tonight or set your recorder!

GvR Eindhoven Video competition

As you might know that besides a skateboard and graffiti competition we also hosted a Goofy versus Regular Eindhoven video competition. Three filmers were at the contest to make their best edit. From Germany we had Gerrit Piechowski, from Belgium Jelle Bongaerts and from Holland Sander Ferdinand.

Goofy vs Regular Graffiti Contest by Henxs & MTN 94

Starting of in a lovely sunshine on 10:00 Saturday-morning, 5 teams competed against each other outside the Area51 Skatepark, while inside the Goofy vs Regular was going on. With the theme: Goofy vs Regular in the back of their heads. Henxs lined out the paint outside and the guys picked 20 cans of the new MTN 94 spray cans and started doing their thing.

REGULARS RULE!

The etnies Goofy versus Regular skateboard contest at Area 51 in Eindhoven is over. After a busy day with over 70 skateboarders and more than 500 spectators the battle of the stances came off victorious for the Regular footers. With 1742 points they were just 46 points ahead of the Goofy riders with their 1696 points. Stand out tricks from Regulars Woody Hoogendijk (NL, 360 flip lipslide down the handrail), Sven Kilchenmann (CH, salad grind on the big rail) and Yannick Schall (GER, bluntslide to fakie on the pyramid ledge) added valuable points to the team’s score.

Program

It's 24 hrs till the start of the contest now! So, let's give some more info on the program.

Today the doors to the park open at 14:00 for practice and the park is open till 2 at night. Saturday the park opens at 10.30 and the contest starts at 11.30. We expect to have the final around 19.00 followed by a best trick contest sponsored by EA's Skate 2 with 500 euro price money.

At 23.00 there will be a afterparty at Plan 2 in Eindhoven.

What? Free shoes? Yes, you heard it right! Etnies is organizing a shoe swap at Etnies Goofy versus Regular in Eindhoven!

Contest update!

Etnies Goofy versus Regular Eindhoven is only a bit more than a week away, so it's time for an update!
First of all as you could read before we have found a Goofy Team captain and a Regular Team captain.

Skatepark AreaFiftyOne will be closed from Monday the 16th untill Thursday the 19th of March to prepare the course for the contest. On Friday afternoon the course will open at 14:00 hrs for practice, so this is only for the riders competing in the contest.

We found the Regular Team Captain!

As Regular captain we found another Dutch legend: Aldo Niemeijer. Also Aldo is not the youngest skateboarder in the Dutch scene but still rips hard! Aldo is 37 years old and has been skating since 1985 and has been Dutch Champion Street in 1995 and 1997! He owns his own distribution company named AllStyle and in 2006 Aldo started his own skateboard brand Animo skateboards. So he sure knows skateboarding and therefore is the perfect team captain for Regular!

First team captain announced!

With the Etnies Goofy versus Regular Eindhoven-contest only being 3 weeks away it’s time to announce the first team captain. The captain for the Goofy-team is Eindhoven’s local Jeroen Sars! Jeroen is 37 years old and is still ripping the mini ramp and bowl. He has been Dutch mini ramp champion for the last three year and won the last two Dutch bowl championships as well! Jeroen has been skating longer than most of the skaters competing in Goofy versus Regular are old, he started skateboarding 23 years ago!

He is still 100% in to skateboarding and for the last 11 years running 100% Skateshop in Eindhoven! So while you are in Eindhoven for the contest please make sure to check out Jeroen’s shop at Prins Hendrikstraat 103 in Eindhoven!
